The Energy Choice Initiative, which is being largely funded by Switch and Las Vegas Sands, would give residents the ability to choose between several power providers on an open market. Right now, that choice is only possible for large companies. They are allowed to leave NV Energy under a 2001 law that was passed during the Western energy crisis.
But these companies are having to pay a ransom to NV Energy of over 100 million dollars. So these same companies are the ones spending another 20 million dollars promoting question 3 on the ballot. Obviously they think they will save more than 120 million dollars if question 3 passes. And so will you. Every homeowner will be able to save money on electricity because these companies are building competitive solar operations in the state and there will be an abundance of energy not controlled by billionaire Warren Buffett.
In addition every homeowner will be able to put solar on their house and sell excess solar electricity to the grid. This is something every homeowner should do anyway. I’m getting solar. Here is Sunworks proposal of my project.
